Milo

Molly and Milo came to me mid-February. They both settled in well from the start and spent their first evening snuggling with me on the sofa – their favourite place.

Molly and Milo took no time to settle with my hounds and enjoy playing zoomies with them. Molly loves to spend time in the garden, Milo enjoys being in the garden but if the back door is open, he likes to come back into the kitchen to see where I am. Both Molly and Milo really enjoy their walks, they walk well on the lead and are happy to meet other dogs and people whilst out and about without getting excited or strong on the leads.

Both hounds travel very well in the car, they can and will jump into the boot but occasionally Molly needs a bit of coaxing to get in. They are happy to go off in the car for long walks and pile in with my gang, they do get excited on arrival. Molly will bark until she is let out and when she is excited, she can sound rather more like a demented sea lion being strangled rather than a basset hound!!

Molly and Milo both sleep in the kitchen with my gang and settled at night straight away, they are both clean in the house, Molly will let you know in the morning that she is awake and needs to go out, her usual alarm call is around 6 – 6.30am. Neither hound shows any sign of food guarding/aggression even with my dogs eagerly awaiting any possible leftovers (no chance!). I have cut their feed down as both were overweight on arrival, but a few weeks of boot camp and they are both looking much trimmer and healthier.

Both Molly and Milo are happy contented hounds, Milo does like to know where Molly is and likes to be in close contact with her when laying down, he will often just reverse up and "plonk" his butt on her!! They are both very, very cuddly and give the best sofa snuggles.

Cuddles

 Molly and Milo are looking for a home that includes the following;

  • Someone who is at home often.
  • No cats or small furries.
  • A family willing to continue with their weight loss and exercise.
  • A good-sized garden for them to zoom around.
  • An active family, as Molly and Milo thoroughly enjoy their walks, and will need physical and mental stimulation.
  • Patience and time to spend with Molly and Milo in the crucial first few weeks as they adapt.

If you tick all the boxes above, and you feel you and your family are suitable to adopt Molly and Milo, please fill in our online Adoption Application:

Taking on a rescue dog is not the easy option. You need to be prepared to help a confused and troubled hound find their place in your family. They have been through a massive upheaval and will need time to settle into a new way of life, so please consider this BEFORE you fill in an application.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

Molly and Milo are subject to an adoption fee and a successful home check. If your home check is successful, your family, including your resident hounds if you have them, will need to be able to travel to their foster home to meet them and their foster family.

You will also have a telephone call with a member of the team, plus Molly and Milo's foster family, so that all of their history can be shared with you in person, and that we can be assured that you can fill all of their needs and requirements.

Molly and Milo come with 5 weeks free insurance via our rehoming partner, Agria.

Thank you for reading Molly and Milo's blog. Please share where you are able.
