Spring happenings

We hope you are enjoying the lighter evenings, we actually got a walk on the moor after tea last week here in Berkshire, which was a welcome relief from those dark evening sprints around the local park! The Basset walking groups are enjoying lots of waddles at the moment, have a look on our facebook page Basset Walks UK for further details for walks near you, and if there isn't one, then arrange one! We can assure you people will come!

Recent rehomes

Come and see our lucky hounds who have found their new families!

Clyde

BRNGB

We are over the moon to tell you that Clyde has found his happy ever after! You may remember we had to place him into emergency boarding, well now he is living in the beautiful city of York with Nicola and her family. He's settling really well, and enjoying life again! How fantastic!

We'd like to give Jane, his foster mum a massive thank you for going the extra mile for him while meeting his new family, she was completely amazing and we owe you a lot! Thank you Jane, from the whole team, but most especially from Clyde.

Hugo

 BRNGB

Lovely Hugo has been adopted by Tom, Sophie and family, and is being spoiled rotten in his new home in Norfolk.

Rascal and Pluto

BRNGB

These two lovelies are settling in beautifully in their new home in the wilds of London with their new parents, Caroline and Stephen.

Basil

 basil 20170319 1897905940

Basil became a bit of a foster fail with the lovely Amanda, and is having a great time living in Sunderland.

Walter

BRNGB

Walter certainly fell on his feet when he was adopted by Louise and Chris in Leeds, yet another foster fail!

There are a few adoptions being finalised this week, and we currently have 16 dogs in foster, with another 3 on the list to come in.

Skydiving for Hounds in need!

skydive 20170215 2017521253

There is only a week to go before our very own treasurer, Sam Savage and some of our brilliant friends take to the skies to fall out of an aeroplane for money! Things must be bad in the coffers for them to do this, so, if you do have any spare pennies down the back of your sofa, please consider sponsoring them. All money raised will go into our emergency fund, which provides essential veterinary care for our hounds. This is much needed at the moment, with us being busier than ever, so every penny helps.

You can donate via Heidi and John's Just Giving pages:

You can also text your sponsorship directly to us: Text DIVE26 £10 to 70070 to donate to Basset Rescue Network GB and make a difference today.

Easter Walk

spring 20170319 1566118784

Our wonderful foster mum Louise has organised a lovely Easter Walk in Yorkshire on Sunday 23rd April. The details are:

Dalby Beck Walk

Dalby Forest, Low Dalby, Thornton Le Dale, Pickering, Yorkshire, YO18 7LT

It's a lovely 3 mile walk, Louise recommends good walking shoes! She's running £1 a hound for us here at BRNGB, and you are very welcome to bring a picnic and discuss all things basset after the walk. Sounds brilliant! Please support them if you are in the area, it promises to be a fabulous day.

Roxy

BRNGB

Our whizzing, wheely girl Roxy is doing brilliantly, and we'd like to thank each and every one of you who has supported her since we blogged about her in February. We shared her story with you and her Amazon wishlist and the response was incredible! As always we were blown away by your sheer kindness and generosity! Roxy had a wonderful time opening all her parcels, mum Kim was busy for weeks! Thank you so much.

You can read Roxy's blog here if you missed it:

Fundraising

BRNGB

Are you amazing at raising funds for charity? Do you love organising events or have an idea on how to raise money? If so...we want to hear from YOU!

We are busier than ever rehoming hounds, but our pot is running low and we need to ensure that each and every dog that comes in to our family is given every opportunity for a long and happy life, which means providing essential veterinary care. Every dog has a vet check in foster as standard procedure, and we then look at the vet's recommendations on what treatment they require. Most of our dogs need neutering, vaccinating and dental care when they arrive, which is costly enough, as I am sure you will all agree, but some of our dogs will need extra care, for example lumps biopsied and excised, or tests for areas of concern. We won't let any dog down, and will work our socks off to make sure they get what they need but we also need new ideas and events to help us raise money and awareness.

If you can help in any way, plese email us here. Thank you.

Thank you for reading our blog, please share where you can.
