Summer news round up!

We have had a really busy Summer here at BRNGB! The weather hasn't been the best, but we hope that you have had plenty of opportunities to get outside with your dogs, and that you are all happy and healthy. Here's a little round up of what's been going on.

Thank you!

We really must pay an enormous Thank You to all the walking groups who arrange wonderful Basset waddles across the country and take donations for us whilst doing so. In particular, we'd like to pay thanks to Matt and Kelly Ireland, who arrange walks in the Midlands, Genny Finnis and Neil Saywell, who run the Surrey and Barkshire Hounds group, Clare Hodgson, who runs the Wirral Waddlers and Gillian and Jon Kent, in Oxfordshire. These guys unfailingly send us your donations after every waddle, and together they raise lots of money for us. We really do appreciate what you do for us!

You can keep up to date with all the Basset Waddles by joining our group on Facebook, Basset Walks and Fun Days UK, following the link below. If there are none local to you, you can always start your own!

If you would like us to put your walks on our website calendar, please email me directly at

Action Petz Summer Takeover

Massive thabk you to Hannah again for organising another Takeover! Numbers were slightly down on last time, but that was to be expected due to it being the summer holidays! Thank you to all who attended and made the event such fun.

Lintbells Goodybag

We were delighted to receive an email over the summer from Lintbells, after one of our supporters, Athina Papadopoulou, had nominated us to receive a goody bag from them! We received some flea treatments, plus some Yumove tablets and Yumpro Bioactiv tablets! Their products are really good, several people have told us that they recommend the Yumove for their older dogs. A big thank you to Charlie at Lintbells for his lovely emails and support for our rescue. If you are interested in Lintbells products, follow the link below to their website.

Adopted dogs!

I did say we had been busy... here are our dogs we have adopted during the summer!

Chalky and Revel

Mother and daughter are living by the sea with Rebekah and a few seagulls! They have settled really well.

Bill and Ben

Beautiful boys now living in Gloucestershire with Charlie and Glen.

Alfie and Daisy

Gorgeous hounds, fostered and adopted by Fiona and her family, she couldn't bear to lose them!

One of the most handsome hounds around! Fostered and adopted by the wonderful Neil in Manchester.

Just adopted by the lovely Natasha and family in South Wales.

Living in beautiful Exeter with the equally beautiful Rob and Sophie.

Spotted on a basset waddle and it was love at first sight with new owner Anne in Surrey.

Just adopted by Gill and family on the south coast of England, loving her life by the sea!

A massive thank you goes out to all our fosterers, our homecheckers and our transporters, we simply couldn't do this without you.

Dogs awaiting homes

Navi and Hilda are both still awaiting their forever homes. Please can you read and share their blogs again for us? We know that someone is out there, ready to share their home with these gorgeous girls.

Yes, Christmas is most definitely coming!

Our party this year will be held on Sunday, 13th December in Llanwern, Newport. Dead easy to get to, just off the M4 after you cross the Severn Bridge. More information to follow, but please start collecting your unwanted valuables for our raffle!

We should have our Christmas cards available on the website soon.

Millie's Memorial Waddle

Our excellent friend and supporter, Diane Travis, sadly lost her beautiful Millie earlier this year. She is organising a Memorial walk in her honour in Oldham on the 22nd November. Please follow the link if you'd like to come.
