On Sunday, our amazing friends Lisa and Paul, who are also part of our invaluable foster team, took part in the London to Brighton bike ride on a tandem in aid of us! It was incredibly hot, whilst most of us were sweating under a shady tree they were pedalling furiously over 54 miles! They had basset ears and tails on, too!
They have smashed their target of £500 which is incredible, and we would like to say a massive thank you to all who donated!
'A while ago, Paul and I saw an old tandem for sale, which we thought looked quite fun! Paul likes to tinker with bikes, so he sorts it out and made it safe to ride. Then we thought it would be great for fundraising, we had done the London to Brighton bike ride once before on normal bikes, so thought this would make it more of a challenge.
Of course, we had to raise funds for our favourite charity, BRNGB!
As fosterers we know that there are always dogs coming into foster care that need vet treatment, even just a once over by the vet can be expensive, without any treatment, (which most of them do).
That's why we cycled 54 miles on our tandem to raise money for these lovely basset hounds who beed help and support to get them ready for their forever homes.
Also, I would like to say that what we did was nothing compared to the ladies and men that run the charity, they work non stop arranging foster homes, transport, adoptions, and also all the paperwork that comes from running a charity. Our hard work ended in Brighton on Sunday, but their work is ongoing!"
We are so proud to have such wonderful people on our team, times like this make us so thankful for the support our hounds get when they become part of the BRNGB family.
Thank you so much, Lisa and Paul, you are true heroes in our eyes!
Now...go and sit down on some very soft cushions!!!
