This time of year is always busy at BRNGB, so we thought we'd write a little catch up on things that are happening right now!
We are delighted to let you know that Dawn Gilchrist and Jo Bloyce will now be formally appointed as trustees here at Basset Rescue Network. Both of these lovely ladies have worked tirelessly since coming on board, and we needed to recognise how important they are to us. We are thrilled to be a 'Fabulous Five' and look forward to many more years of rescuing together!
Our amazing Berkeley is still recuperating at home, being very well looked after and is now allowed out for little walks. He's obviously loving sitting by the fire, as you can see in the photo! He's being a little fussy about eating, so he was popped back to AVR for a check up, where they were really happy with how his wound is healing. Sadly though, the cancer is still present. He has a new lump on his back leg, which they have taken a biopsy of. He's being very well monitored by both his family and the hospital, and we couldn't be happier with the care he is receiving. Sadly, he remains on palliative care, but with all your good wishes behind him, we are hoping he will keep on fighting and be with us for a while longer!
Have you bought your tickets yet? This year we are so lucky to have two Christmas parties, one in Dorking on the 1st December, and one in Manchester on the 8th December! Whichever one you attend, (or why not both?) you can be sure of a madcap afternoon of Christmas fun with a room full of basset hounds! Who could ask for more? Other breeds and children are very welcome too!
We are so excited, and look forward to seeing you all there! Enormous thanks go to all those working hard to make these events a success.
Have you taken a look in our shop lately? Not only have we got our amazing Christmas cards in there, which you can't purchase anywhere else, but we also have calendars for all your important dates and new bags so you can support your favourite rescue on the go!
Pop over now to purchase, but be quick, stocks are limited and selling fast!
We cannot post about our shop items without an enormous thank you to some people.
For once again lending her incredible talent to designing our cards for us. Please pop over to her Etsy shop to see more of her work, she really is so incredibly talented, and we are so thankful to her for her support.
Our fabulous friend Pam Whitrod has again printed our cards for us, and we owe her a massive thanks too. Pam's company provides all manner of printworks, and we can honestly say her products are of the highest quality. Pop over to her website PR Print Promotions for a look at what she provides, she's truly great!
Lastly, big shoutout to Jeff Slough for his time and patience in dealing with Jo and Louise, who plague him to death about technical stuff! He designed, built and manages our website, including the shop, which has been instrumental in raising so much money over the years. If you need a website, Jeff's your man!
We've added a new page on Facebook to deal with all our fundrasing, as our last auction was so big because of the tremendous support we receive, it kind of clogged up the page! So if you want to join in with us and our fundraising, then pop over and 'Like' our new page. We've got lots of wonderful things coming in the next few weeks, including a Christmas Auction being run by our fabulous friend Sally King. Sally has done a few auctions for us now, and we are so excited that she's doing another one, as the items she has are fabulous, and many not available here!
This month, our lovely friend Hannah Thomas has donated the most wonderful prize of two pet portraits, but hurry as this ends tonight! (3rd November) Hannah's artwork is amazing and we are so thankful to her for her support.
We've added a new Wednesday night draw to our Bonus Ball group! Jane and Rosie would love to welcome you if you would like to support us by playing along!
We have 21 dogs within our foster system at the moment, with another 2 on the waiting list. Many of them will be coming up for rehoming soon, so please keep your eyes on the website if you are looking for a special friend to join your family!
We've also got an enormous rehome blog in the making, so watch out for that and share in our happy news of all our hounds who have settled into their forever homes!
Once again, a big thank you to all our friends and supporters, our fosterers, our transporters, our homecheckers...all of you help make BRNGB what it is, and we couldn't do it without you.
