New places....

Well, let's start off this latest blog with the best news ever!

Our wonderful little Navi has found her home! Now, it's early days yet, so we won't say too much, but Navi went to her new home on Saturday, down to the beautiful West Country, where we hope she will spend her life having lots of fun and cuddles! Her new owners came to Navi's foster home, at Houndy HQ to get to know her, walk her and have a lovely afternoon tea with Sam Morgan and her family.

Sam says that Navi seemed to know that they were her new owners, and bonded from the off! We hope to bring you an update very soon.

We are so very proud of our little girl, but we know that if it wasn't for Joy and her team at the Burkett-Smith Animal Sanctuary, this day would not have come. Joy's training plan and recommendations for Navi's continuing training went with her, and her new owners will have access to Joy if they need extra help. Please, please, if you can, support the work that they do in the SOS Havens. They are fundraising at the moment to build new ones and renovate the existing site, and have a massive £100,000 target to aim for. We know they'll get there and we are right behind them. We donated Navi's adoption fee to them to help in their efforts, as without them, Navi would have never reached her potential. Pop over to their wonderful website and look at ways you could help.

New Faces for BRNGB

Our regular followers will know that since Christmas, it's been non stop. For the three of us, at times, it's been really intense, and to deal with our regular jobs and our families on top, has been very difficult. We have got a fantastic team, our fosterers in particular are the most amazing bunch of people ever, and we've also had the help of lots of people on the administration side of things too, in particular Gillian Kent and Gareth Williams. We are really pleased to let you know that we are making these guys official team members!

Gillian has been a part of BRNGB since Christmas 2014 when she adopted Winnie from us, together with her husband Jon, and became fundraising co-ordinator at our AGM in October. She lives in Oxfordshire. She's been working very hard with Sam on the Charity Commission forms lately. She's got loads of ideas on fundraising, and would love to hear your ideas too, you can email her on

Gareth  hails form the North East, and you may remember him doing the North Sea New Years day dip for us this year! He lives with his family and their 3 lovely hounds,  Delilah, Horatio and Barley, who was adopted from us last Autumn. Gareth is also an Admin on the popular Facebook group, Basset Hounds UK. Gareth is particularly amazing at organising transport runs, and is looking forward to being able to get his teeth into liaising with foster homes and adopters to ensure these run as smoothly as possible.

We hope you'll agree, these new helpers will make things a lot easier for us to carry on rescuing as many hounds as we can. Don't forget, you can apply online to help us with fostering, home checking and transporting, we always need new helpers!

Here's a round up of our latest rehomes:
