Now, if you fancy adding a little pocket rocket into your lives, then look no further, because here comes Mable!

Yes, we know she's not our usual hound, but this little French bulldog needs her forever home, and she will certainly repay you in fun and frolicks!

Mable is 7 years old and is in foster in Yorkshire with Sue and her family. She is more than ready to begin a life of happiness with a new family who will love her completely. She is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Here is Sue's final assessment on the gorgeous Mable.

"Mable is an excitable little girl with a big attitude. She can only be described as a little pocket rocket. When she arrived house training was an issue, however this has been worked on and if she has regular walks, this has improved greatly. She loves nothing more than showing you her toys and loves a game of fetch. However, if left with soft toys or tennis balls she will destroy them.

Mable is lean at 10.2kg, but she is not a big eater and will often leave her food. She likes treats and will take then but not really snatch. She has little/no obedience apart from recall and knowing her name. She has been let off in dog free areas due to the fact she will challenge any dog she meets (little dog syndrome) she thinks she is a Great Dane; she will not back down. When walking her she will walk out in front and at times pull on a lead but will respond to verbal commands to ‘go steady’.  She is not dog reactive and will walk past a dog on the other side of the road without issue or second glance.

She loves people and will jump up to greet them.  She needs to be reminded that this is not always appropriate.  She loves nothing more than having a person to herself.  If Mable was to be with another dog this would take time to integrate her into the family.  She will react initially but soon find her place."

So, gorgeous Mable is not our usual type of dog, but one that needs a home all the same!

Mable is looking for a home that includes the following;

  • someone who is at home often, as Mable loves a human!
  • time to spend integrating Mable with a resident dog if you have one.
  • commitment to continue her obedience training.
  • an active family who can take Mable on walks and stimulate her energetic personality.
  • patience and time to spend with Mable in the crucial first few weeks as she adapts.

If you tick all the boxes above, and you feel you and your family are suitable to adopt Mable, please fill in our online Adoption Application:

Adoption Application

Applications for Mable close on SATURDAY MARCH 21st- we will aim to email you within a week of applications closing.

Please ensure you read our FAQ's before applying:

Taking on a rescue dog is not the easy option. You need to be prepared to help a confused and troubled hound find their place in your family. They have been through a massive upheaval and will need time to settle into a new way of life, so please consider this BEFORE you fill in an application.

Mable is subject to an adoption fee and a successful home check. If your home check is successful, your family, including your resident hounds if you have them, will need to be able to travel to her foster home to meet her and her foster family.

Please ensure you can do this before applying.

You will also have a telephone call with a member of the team, plus Mable’s foster family, so that all of her history can be shared with you in person, and that we can be assured that you can fill all of her needs and requirements.

Mable comes with 5 weeks free insurance via our rehoming partner, Agria.
