The last week has been a frantic one! We have so much going on, it's been hard to keep track of everything. Considering we all have 'proper' jobs too, I do sometimes wonder how on earth we fit it all in! Anyway, here's a round up of all the goings on at the Basset Rescue Network.
Our auction by the wonderful people in The Animal Rescue Auction Group is now OPEN! This means you can bid on all the items in the auction album. Bidding ends at 7pm on Thursday 4th June, so you have a week to study the album and get those bids in! There are some wonderful pieces of jewellry, basset hound items, toiletries, clothes, dog biscuits and stunning cakes, there really is something for everyone! It's also a great way to pick up some bargains for presents, whilst helping your favourite rescue! If you are still confused, here is a checklist of things you need to do:
- Make sure you have a PayPal account, as that's the way the winning bidder will need to pay.
- Join the TARAG facebook page following this link: TARAG Facebook page(your request will be approved by an admin)
- Find the auction album in Photos
- Start bidding!
- If you are the winning bidder, you will be notified within the comments section, and there will be detailed instructions on how to pay.
It's that simple!
Each month, TARAG run an auction for rescues just like us, and each month they ask for donations. We are big supporters of what they do, so please if you have joined just for our auction, please keep in touch with them and try and help when you can. Every penny counts.
South Wales Dog and Family fun day
On Bank Holiday Monday, we did our very first charity stall! We went to the fun day at Fonmon Castle, in the Vale of Glamorgan. We had a 'Dog Lucky Dip' bucket, some wonderful handmade bassety items from the wonderful Heidi, and Sam Morgan (Bessie) out did her self making over 600 dog biscuits and treats for the 'Dog Pick 'n' Mix' which was brilliantly successful!

It was such a delight that Daisy came to see us too! she's really looking well, and is having a wonderful time with Liz and Jeff. It was the first time for both the Sam's and Ellen to meet her which was great. She really took a shine to Bessie, they were having loads of fun together.

Apart from it being so windy that our gazebo blew down, and we were freezing, we had no major disasters and we made around £300! We also met lots of people and gave out plenty of information about us and what we do, so it was also a valuable bit of networking. We also had sneaky looks at the other stalls, and got a few ideas to boot! We will definitely be looking to do other fayres and fun days, so if you know of one local to you, please get in touch with us so we can possibly get some dates in the diary for next Summer.
We are delighted to inform you that the wonderful Moose who was fostered by the lovely Lin and John in East Sussex has gone to his forever home with Sue and her family in Essex. Even though it broke Lin and John's heart to give him up, they know he is going to have a wonderful life!
If you are a follower of our Friends of Basset Rescue Network of GB group on Facebook (follow the link if you would like to join Friends of Basset Rescue Network Facebook page) you will be well versed on Moose's escapades with Lin, and we know Sue will keep us updated of his latest exploits!
Chalky, Revel and Luna
Over the last week, we've taken in 3 foster dogs, all ladies! It must be a popular time for the ladies! All are in foster homes now and will be being spayed as soon as possible after having their health checks.
Chalky and Revel are a beautiful mother and daughter. I have to say, Revel has the most beautiful eyes of any basset hound I have seen, and Chalky's wrinkly feet have to be seen to be believed! We took them to the fun day on Monday and they were the stars of the show!
As soon as they are ready for adoption, we'll let you know!
Waddles and Events
Have you checked our events calendar? Lots of waddles and events all over the place this summer, and more being added all the time. Keep up to date and get out there this summer with your dogs!
That's a round up of this week's news, don't forget to keep in touch with us for all the latest happenings! You can also share this blog to everyone you know, the more people hear about us, the more hounds we can help!
Thank you for your support, as always.
