Easter News blog

After one of the saddest and most stressful weeks in the Basset Rescue Network world, we would like to thank you all for your messages of love and support that you have sent us regarding our lovely Bertie. We can't tell you how much it meant to us to read your kind words of support. We really appreciate it very much.

We do have some good news to share, thankfully, so please read on...

We've got some very good news that we would like to share with you. We have teamed up with Agria Insurance as one of their Rehoming Partners and we are now able to send each and every one of our newly adopted dogs with 5 weeks free insurance!

Most importantly, this will also include our 'oldies', who are notoriously difficult to insure as I am sure you're aware! Nowadays, pet insurance is an important part of responsible pet ownership, so we are delighted to be able to offer this for all our wonderful hounds. Agria are experienced insurers, so we know that our dogs will be in very good hands.

We'd like to thank Lorraine at Agria who gave up her Sunday to train both Sam and Louise, we had a lot of laughs (and cake!) even if it was all about pet insurance, which isn't anyone's favourite subject!

The skydive team are getting prepared for their dive...let's hope that the winds do not affect them this time! All going well, we shall be in Oxfordshire on Sunday April 30th to catch...sorry watch... them throwing themselves out of a plane all in the name of basset hounds! We should have some amazing photos to share!

National Pet Show

We are delighted to have been asked back to the National Pet Show in the Excel Centre in London once again, which is going to be on the 6th and 7th May. Please come and see us if you are close, we'd love to see you, and it really is a great day out. We will be there with our hounds, who will be once again indulging in a day of being stroked and petted...it will be a hard life, but someone has to do it! Here's a photo of lovely Cassie, who owns the lovely Genny Finnis, from last year's show.

Hard life indeed!

Gorgeous Esme is loving her new home with Helen and her family.

Beautiful Teddy is settling very well in Birmingham.

Loving life by the seaside in Brighton, our beautiful Arthur!

Alfie was foster failed by the lovely Amanda, and is settling very well.

Adopted by Dawn and her family in Southampton.

Her new mum Rosie fell in love with her while helping us transport Bella to foster! She's doing very well.

Having cuddles with her new brother Paddy in Manchester, Rosie is certainly having a lovely life!

Loving his new home with Triste and Tracey in Halifax, Boris has certainly landed on his feet!

We've had a few go through this past week, so watch out for more happy tales soon!

A big thank you to all our teams, our foster carers, home checkers and transporters, because these hounds would not be in their happy homes if it wasn't for you!

Website changes!

We hope you like our new, fresh look to our website! A massive thank you goes to our website guru, Jeff Slough, who has spent days on it this past week. Thanks to all who emailed us photos for the banner, we've had loads and we'll be changing them over to some new ones as we add them. We think they look fabulous! What do you think? Please let us know!

Happy Easter!

We would like to wish you all a very happy houndy Easter, keep your chocolate eggs away from your hounds and let's hope the weather is on our side so we can enjoy some spring walks with our furry friends!
