Marvellous Mindy!

Mindy Marvellous Mindy

Oh my, here is a wonderful lady to brighten up any mid-week misery!

Here's Mindy!

Mindy is a 9 year old basset hound who is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and she is so ready to begin the hunt for her very own family!

She is currently in foster with Sue in Yorkshire, and she has lots to say about this beautiful girl!

"Don't let her age fool you!

Mindy is young at heart and very fit for her age. She loves to play and run along with other bassets. She likes a good game of 'chase', but she can play rough and will try and grab other dogs back legs if she is not ready to stop playing. Mindy loves going out in the car and travels well, however she does bark when the engine stops. She sleeps in the kitchen overnight with other dogs and is clean. She was fine at the vets and just trotted in and let the vet examine her. Mindy walks well on a lead and likes a good old sniff as she goes along.

Food wise she can be a bit of a piglet and if her diet/treats are not managed she will quickly become overweight. On arrival she was a little round and now she is at a better weight. She loves carrots, apples and other raw veg as a treat. When waiting for her food she will initially have a little dance but then will sit and wait for it.She is gentle when taking treats.

Now for the not so good bit! She is not keen on men in baseball hats, she does not like fireworks and she suffers with separation anxiety, she will constantly bark when she hears the car go off the drive, so she will need help to overcome this.

Mindy has a dislike of cats, so she can't be rehomed with one.

She's an affectionate girl, who just loves to be nested up with a blankie or cuddled up with you on the sofa."

Snoozy Mindy

We are sure that there is a perfect family just waiting for a girl like Mindy to cuddle and snooze the autumn days away! Could it be you?

The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain FAQ's

Here we will attempt to answer some of the more frequently asked questions about The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain and adopting a Basset Hound.

Taking on a rescue dog is not the easy option. You need to be prepared to help a confused and troubled hound find their place in your family. They have been through a massive upheaval and will need time to settle into a new way of life, so please consider this BEFORE you fill in an application.

Mindy is subject to an adoption fee and a successful home check. If your home check is successful, your family, including your resident hounds if you have them, will need to be able to travel to her foster home to meet her and her foster family.

Please ensure you can do this before applying.

You will also have a telephone call with a member of the team, plus Mindy's foster family, so that all of her history can be shared with you in person, and that we can be assured that you can fill all of her needs and requirements.

Mindy comes with 5 weeks free insurance via our rehoming partner, Agria.
