Bella - ready for her next adventure!

Oooh, come and say a big hello to beautiful Bella!

Bella will be a whole 5 years old next month and she is looking for a very special family to celebrate her birthday in style! Could it be you?

A beautiful red and white basset hound, Bella is in fine health, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. She is currently in foster with Julie and her family in Middlesbrough. She's an active hound who will need an active family to help her to settle into her new home.

She's been a wonderful foster with Julie, and this is her glowing assessment!

Bella is a lively, loveable and cuddly girl, who is fully housetrained.

Bella loves her walks and she is good on lead, and she will ask to go for a walk. Bella also travels really well in the car.

She eats 8am and 5pm, and she likes her food with warm water and a little added something or otherwise she will bark at you! She also loves her treats and will come with a few packets to her new home. Bella can be aggressive around food if other dogs come near.

Bella can be nervy, and she is frightened of spray bottles or any form of sprays. Bella does still struggle with some separation anxiety, and she becomes very loud and bouncy when you come home, as a welcome. Bella is excellent with children, but unsure about cats. She is nervous around strangers but does overcome it.

Bella is very cuddly and loves to be close to her humans! Whilst with us, she sleeps on the sofa but would happily come to bed with you if her new family wanted her to.

This girl is a total joy and will be a fantastic addition to any family!

 Bella is looking for a home that includes the following;

  • someone who is at home often, as Bella does love company and will need help on her separation anxiety.
  • a home as an only dog as long as she needs all the attention!
  • no cats
  • an active family, who can provide the physical stimulation Bella needs
  • patience and time to spend with Bella in the crucial first few weeks as she adapts.

If you tick all the boxes above, and you feel you and your family are suitable to adopt Bella, please fill in our online Adoption Application:

Applications for Bella close on SATURDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER- we will aim to email you within a week of applications closing.

The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain FAQ's

Here we will attempt to answer some of the more frequently asked questions about The Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain and adopting a Basset Hound.

Taking on a rescue dog is not the easy option. You need to be prepared to help a confused and troubled hound find their place in your family. They have been through a massive upheaval and will need time to settle into a new way of life, so please consider this BEFORE you fill in an application.

Bella is subject to an adoption fee and a successful home check. If your home check is successful, your family, including your resident hounds if you have them, will need to be able to travel to her foster home to meet her and her foster family.

Please ensure you can do this before applying.

You will also have a telephone call with a member of the team, plus Bella's foster family, so that all of her history can be shared with you in person, and that we can be assured that you can fill all of her needs and requirements.

Bella comes with 5 weeks free insurance via our rehoming partner, Agria.
